My current work attire:

The reason behind the rediculosity:

Now that's very dark, but it says 12 degrees. Our furnace kicked the bucket last night at 5 PM and we haven't had heat since. We've got a few space heaters but our apartment is huge and they aren't doing much. My roommate/co-worker is dressed in a similar fashion.

That said, I braved the canal yesterday with my new skates during a balmy -34 with 25KMh winds so this feels a bit nicer by comparison :)

Now, entertain me with your own stories of cold adventures/apartments. Back to my work and tea.

Ha! Excellent winter cap … not just anyone can pull that off :D This is definitely not a fun time to have the furnace die on you… hopefully it gets fixed quickly. It’s rather cold here today as well (-2F), but it’s supposed to get even more ridiculous as the week progresses. No clue where this winter came from …but it should go away :D

My flat is heated, but it is still cooler than average because of poor insulation issues, and the A/C unit lets in cold air, so we have to dress warmly and/or don fleece blankets.

Cold weather and I don't get along, I ache a lot, but there is pain meds, netflix, and plenty of math (yuck) to distract me.

Hopin the furnace gets fixed soon!

Ouch. I've just spent a weekend with no heating due to a technological cock-up as well, so I can sympathise. I found that a hot water bottle on my lap and a blanket folded over it really helped - aside from the slight 'feeling like a pensioner' embarrassment issue.

Blarrg, that sucks. When that happened a couple years back at our house, those heat dishes from Costco worked really well, but still cold if you were out of range of one. :< I hope it gets fixed soon, and I am jealous of skating on the canal for sure!

Oh that sounds so cold! I'm sorry. Last winter, my roommate kept the window in our room (about 1 1/2 by 2 feet) open all the time. In the middle of winter.

Because she had weird body heat issues and so she was hot all the freaking time. Which meant I got to freeze to death

I cannot even imagine it being that could inside my house. But at least you are rocking that hat!! :D

If it gets to 12 degrees, outside!, where I live, people start freaking out. Hopefully your heat has been fixed by now? Stay warm!!
